Locate the USB drive and it probably needs to have a drive letter assigned to it. The security policy is preventing USB-C and Thunderbolt devices and drivers from being installed. Go through Administrative Tools to Computer Management. Right-click your USB or external hard drive and click Uninstall > Unplug the drive. Connect your USB or external hard drive to your PC, and go to Devices Manager > Click Universal Serial Bus Controllers. This is caused by a Group Policy (GPO) setting in the Windows image. Update or reinstall USB/external hard drive drivers. If you check Device Manager, you see a yellow exclamation mark (bang), and get a message ( Figure 1) if you try to automatically search for drivers on the device with Device Manager. ![]() ![]() An issue where several computers are unable to recognize USB-C or Thunderbolt docks.
